SAFE For All with UCM

A Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) program is part of a hospital’s Emergency Department providing specialized medical exams for survivors of sexual assault.

This specialized medical exam includes a detailed history, physical exam and forensic evidence collected by a trained professional. Currently, very few hospitals, especially rural hospitals have the capability to provide rapid, competent care to sexual assault survivors. Not only are the resources often not available but the cost of a fully staffed, trained and prepared SAFE program is nearly $100,000 per year per hospital or millions statewide.

Our Mission

The mission of UCM Digital Health's SAFE Telemedicine Program is to provide comprehensive, compassionate care via telemedicine 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to any victim of sexual assault or abuse, regardless of the health care facility to which they present. UCM is an organization comprised of Emergency Medicine providers treating and triaging simple to complex medical problems through telemedicine. UCM is in the unique position to be the only telemedicine company with the capability of providing a SAFE telemedicine program. We have an established telemedicine program providing care to millions across the US and we have a team consisting of experienced and expert SAFE providers.

We can rapidly implement a program for your state or hospital with resources already available to UCM: SAFE certified medical staff and our existing technology and infrastructure.
